7 COMMON PROJECTOR PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

THE PROJECTOR WON’T TURN OFF

Is your projector LED not getting turned off? You must have tried to turn it off many times while pressing the power button from both sides, but the situation is still the same. The reason behind this can be an improperly fitted lamp, or there is a fault in the power button. Some of us disconnect the projector from the power button, but this can’t be safe & convenient as well.

How To Fix It?

  • Make sure to reinstall the lamp accurately as per the instructions given in the user manual.
  • If the lamp is not an issue, then examine your power button. If it has a problem, then replace it.

DOTS AND LINES ON THE SCREEN

Getting dots or lines on a projector deploys an immense impact on the quality of your projector image. Most of the time, these lines come in red, blue, and in purple colors. However, these lines occur due to the dust that has accumulated on your projectors’ green panel.

How To Fix It?

  • Open your green panel & lens area and wipe down them with cleansing paper or cotton cloth.
  • If the lines remain the same even after removing all the dirt, then you must check out your mainboard.
  • Replace your mainboard with a brand new option.

BAD IMAGE QUALITY

Image quality seems to have been a significant concern since the invention of projectors. But this does not always depend on your projector quality, but sometimes the misalignment of resolution impacts your projector’s image quality. If your computer resolution setting is 1080p whereas your projector resolution is set at 720p, one must experience lousy image quality.

How To Fix It?

  • Before getting started, make sure to align your resolution in both projector & PC.
  • If your system has some faulty cords, then make sure to replace them as well.
  • In the last check out image setting in a projector as the zoom & color contrast can significantly impact.

REMOTE CONTROL NOT WORKING

Do you want to operate your projector from a distance, but the remote control is not working correctly? Then you need to check out the battery. Besides this, it won’t pick signals correctly if you are operating remotely from a significant distance.

How To Fix It?

  • Reinstall your batteries and check them. If the problem remains the same, then you should replace them.

PROJECTOR IS OVERHEATING

  • Remove your projector from hot spots & places wildly if the sunlight is penetrating over it.
  • Clean all the dust & debris over the green filter panel that will create a hurdle for insulation.
  • The next try is to replace the fan if you find any malfunction while working with a fan.

THE PROJECTOR TURNS OFF UNEXPECTEDLY

Your projector turns off unexpectedly? It can be a big problem, especially when you have a lecture going on. It can be due to the loose power cable that cut them off after a slight movement. Secondly, if the fan inside the projector stopped working, it would cause the projector to turn off.

How To Fix It?

  • Check your power supply and cords’ condition if you see any faults and fix them immediately.

  • Clean fan and filters with a paper towel and dry up before placing them into the projector again.

IMAGES GROWN DULL!

After a few months, you will experience light LED projector output! Now the image quality is not as good as it used to be. With that condition, sometimes it becomes hard to differentiate black & white from the screen. However, it can be due to the lamp, which makes the image quality duller.

How To Fix It?

  • First of all! If your remote has too much brightness, then turn the extra bulbs off!
  • Secondly, if your lamp has completed life now, you need to replace it.

When searching for a projector, always pick the model that comes with a decent warranty period. A reasonable warranty period ensures that the unit is of acceptable quality. This recommends that you won’t run into issues while using it in the long run.
